Wetlands

The Wetlands is a vast, mist-shrouded swamp nestled between the mountains of Khaz Modan and the shores of Baradin Bay. Historically battered by dwarven wars and orcish invasions, it serves as a rugged buffer zone between Ironforge and the northern lands of Lordaeron. The fortified port of Menethil Harbor stands as the Alliance's primary lifeline in a sodden wilderness overrun by Dragonmaw orcs, murlocs, and gnolls.

Spreading out beneath the towering precipice of the Stonewrought Dam, the Wetlands is a cold, waterlogged expanse cloaked in perpetual fog and uniform gray skies. While once home to thriving dwarven settlements, the marshlands are now scattered with sunken stone ruins, sodden bogs, and treacherous mires. Adventurers entering the region must navigate narrow passes, either coming north through the barricaded defile of Dun Algaz from Loch Modan or crossing the towering arches of the Thandol Span from the Arathi Highlands.
