Menethil Harbor
The story
Menethil Harbor is a heavily fortified dwarven port town perched on an island off the western shore of the Wetlands. Built over an old Orcish shipyard and named after King Terenas Menethil II, it acts as the primary maritime lifeline connecting the Eastern Kingdoms to the distant shores of Kalimdor. Sheltered behind massive stone battlements and the sturdy towers of Menethil Keep, it is a bustling hub for merchants, off-duty soldiers, and salty adventurers.
The site of Menethil Harbor first served Warchief Orgrim Doomhammer during the Second War, when the Horde constructed an invasion armada out of timber and iron ransacked from Khaz Modan. After the orcs were routed, Grand Admiral Daelin Proudmoore oversaw the rebuilding of the anchorage into a premier Alliance haven, naming it in tribute to the late King Terenas Menethil II of Lordaeron. Despite its remote marshland setting, it remains a heavily defended bastion, reinforced by massive walls, a single bridged causeway, and the four stone watchtowers of Menethil Keep.
