Stonewrought Dam

The story

The Stonewrought Dam is a colossal dwarven engineering marvel standing along the northern rim of Loch Modan. It holds back the waters of the Loch, creating the massive highland lake while draining the Wetlands below into habitable marshes.

Stretching across the canyon east of Dun Algaz, the Stonewrought Dam is widely regarded as one of the great structural triumphs of dwarven civilization. Designed by the master Dark Iron architect Franclorn Forgewright, the barrier was built using his pioneering stonewrought technique. By trapping the waters of the mountain basin, the dam doubled the surface area of the Loch while steadily lowering water levels to the north, allowing the marshy basin of the Wetlands to emerge from a once completely flooded valley.
