Loch Modan

Loch Modan is a temperate mountain valley east of Dun Morogh, renowned for its massive alpine lake held in place by the monumental Stonewrought Dam. Centered around the dwarven town of Thelsamar, the region struggles under encroaching trogg infestations, kobolds in the mines, and aggressive ogres in the northeast highlands.

Situated in eastern Khaz Modan, Loch Modan presents a stark, pleasant contrast to the frozen snowfields of Dun Morogh. Rugged mountain peaks enclose a temperate valley of pine and birch, cradling the Loch itself. This massive body of fresh water is held in place by the Stonewrought Dam, an architectural triumph that towers along the northern rim. The peaceful settlement of Thelsamar serves as the civic heart of the territory, housing traveling mountaineers, hunters, and miners who ply the productive veins of copper and tin scattered throughout the hills.
