North Gate Pass

The story

North Gate Pass is a vital mountain thoroughfare connecting the snowy crags of Dun Morogh with the rolling basin of Loch Modan. It forms the northern corridor through the Khaz Modan peaks, watched over by a fortified dwarven outpost. Travelers heading toward the northern lowlands of the Wetlands frequently traverse this high road.

Carved into the sheer stone of Khaz Modan, North Gate Pass serves as the northern arterial link between the high, frozen valleys of Dun Morogh and the temperate waters of Loch Modan. Descending through steep mountain tunnels, travelers emerging from the west are greeted by the broad expanse of the loch valley. Because it sits within easy striking distance of the paths heading down into the Wetlands, the pass carries heavy traffic of dwarven messengers, merchants, and roaming adventurers. Its strategic value is anchored by the North Gate Outpost, where mountaineers keep vigilant watch against troggs and mountain predators.
