Ironbeard's Tomb

The story

Ironbeard's Tomb is a defiled dwarven burial site situated west of the road leading north toward Dun Modr in the Wetlands. Marked by an outdoor graveyard and a stone statue of its namesake, the crypt has fallen into disuse as acidic oozes swarm the grounds. Travelers rarely set foot in the hollow unless searching for lost possessions swallowed by the slime.

Overlooking the marshes along the road north to Dun Modr, Ironbeard's Tomb stands as a testament to the dwarven presence in the Wetlands. A monumental stone statue, presumed to depict Ironbeard himself, watches over the surrounding burial plot. Yet solemn peace no longer keeps vigil here. The subterranean crypt has been completely overrun by oozes of various black and crimson strains, leaving the tomb contaminated. Dwarves no longer bring their dead to this ruined sanctuary, and those brave enough to disturb the vaults do so primarily to hunt through the remains digested by the lurking slimes.
