In Search of the Excavation Team begins with Tarrel Rockweaver in the Wetlands, who is distraught over a sudden silence from his wife, Merrin. Assigned to the prestigious Whelgar Excavation Site to the east, she has missed two weeks of regular letters, prompting fears that disaster has struck the expedition. Travelers are tasked with venturing into the marsh to locate the dig site and ascertain her safety.

You cannot imagine how worried I have been.
My wife, Merrin, has been sending me letters each week for the past month. She is part of the Whelgar Excavation team. But it has been nearly two weeks since her last correspondence. Surely something is wrong!
Longbraid said that he would send a scout to check up on things if we did not hear from the team soon. I assume that scout is you, friend. Find Merrin at the excavation site to the east!
