Dragonmaw Gates
The Dragonmaw Gates are a series of imposing fortifications along the mountain road leading up from the eastern Wetlands. Built to guard the steep ascent to the mountain fortress of Grim Batol, these heavy barricades bar entry into the cursed heights of the dwarven ruins.
Sentinels of Grim Batol
Carved into the rugged peaks bordering the eastern Wetlands, the Dragonmaw Gates seal the winding road that climbs into the mountains toward Grim Batol. Named after the Dragonmaw clan of orcs who held the dwarven mountain city during the Second War, these defensive barriers remain deeply fortified checkpoints. Anyone attempting to ascend toward the heights must contend with the lingering perils of the pass, where powerful drakes and grim reminders of the clan's dark history still cast a long shadow.
A Contested Threshold
Though the Dragonmaw orcs were broken and scattered following the destruction of the Demon Soul, the mountain path remains exceptionally dangerous. Powerful red dragons have been seen watching over the winding slopes and perches around the gates. Between monstrous drakes and remnants of the Dragonmaw clan lurking in the nearby hills, the gates stand as a firm barrier against any travelers bold enough to venture up the heights.
