Eastern Plaguelands

The story

The Eastern Plaguelands represent the devastated heart of the fallen Kingdom of Lordaeron, suffocated under Scourge blight, toxic mists, and corrupted fungal growths. Stratholme looms in the north as the undead power base in the region, while the zealous Scarlet Crusade entrenches in the east. Amid the nightmare, Light's Hope Chapel stands as a resolute, neutral sanctuary for anyone brave enough to fight back.

Once known as the fertile Eastweald, this region was the agricultural spine of northern Lordaeron, anchored by the great metropolis of Stratholme and prosperous towns like Darrowshire and Corin's Crossing. During the Third War, Prince Arthas purged Stratholme after discovering its grain supply had been laced with the Plague of Undeath. Following the kingdom's collapse, the Scourge's dark magic ran unchecked. The soil turned brown and rotten, ordinary flora warped into colossal mushrooms, and an eerie orange mist settled across the valleys.
