Zul'Mashar
Zul'Mashar is an ancient forest troll settlement tucked into the northeastern corner of the Eastern Plaguelands. Formerly the proud capital of the Mossflayer tribe, it has deteriorated into a desolate ruin following continuous wars with human kingdoms and the devastation of the Plague of Undeath. Today, its remaining defenders face an insidious collapse as the Scourge works from within to turn them into undead thralls.
A Falling Stronghold
Long before the Scourge swept across northern Lordaeron, Zul'Mashar served as the seat of power for the Mossflayer forest trolls. Constant border skirmishes against the humans of Lordaeron chipped away at their dominance, leaving their territories fractured. When the Plague of Undeath blanketed the region, it struck the Mossflayers just as mercilessly as it did their mortal enemies. While the great stepped ziggurat of Mazra'Alor still stands, Zul'Mashar is a hollow shell of its former glory. Commanded by Warlord Thresh'jin and Zul'Brin Warpbranch, the remaining trolls cling stubbornly to their ancient home, largely blind to the reality that Scourge influence is already seeping into their ranks and quietly transforming their kin into rotting monstrosities.
