Infectis Scar

The Infectis Scar is a deep, unnatural chasm carved into the blighted terrain of the Eastern Plaguelands near Corin's Crossing. Unlike natural ravines, this wound in the earth was ripped open by necromantic power when a cursed runeblade shattered against a dwarven shield. The blight festering at the bottom of the fissure remains an enduring testament to the Scourge's dark sorcery.

A Wound of Dark Magic

While neighboring gorges like the Pestilent Scar originated as natural terrain features poisoned by the plague, the Infectis Scar is entirely artificial. It was created during the third war's violent clashes near Corin's Crossing. When the notorious death knight Marduk Blackpool clashed with a stalwart dwarf captain, Marduk's cursed runesword shattered against the captain's shield. Discarding the broken weapon, Marduk kept the hilt, but the severed runeblade sank deep into the soil. Its foul enchantment violently tore open the crust of the earth, creating the jagged chasm that sits festering in the Plaguelands today.
