Stratholme Main Gate
The Stratholme Main Gate stands as the grand, burning entrance to Lordaeron's northern metropolis in the northwestern Eastern Plaguelands. It provides direct access through the city's ruined avenues toward King's Square and the crusader fortifications within.
Gateway to a Fallen Jewel
Stratholme was once the pride of northern Lordaeron, famed as the birthplace of the Order of the Silver Hand. Today, its colossal arched main gates mark the threshold of an ongoing nightmare. It was here during the Third War that Prince Arthas turned on his mentor, Uther the Lightbringer, and purged his own citizens before the Plague of Undeath could claim them. The city has burned relentlessly ever since, transformed into the primary Scourge stronghold in the region.
The Scarlet Approach
Approaching through the main gate leads straight into the ruins of King's Square and Market Row, heading toward the fortified district known as the Scarlet Bastion. Zealots of the Scarlet Crusade pushed through this entrance to reclaim the city and purge the dead, carving out an encampment in the ruins. However, the crusaders find themselves surrounded by overwhelming undead monstrosities, fighting an attrition war they cannot win against the dark forces orchestrating Stratholme's defense.
