Thondroril River

The Thondroril River is a vital natural boundary separating the Western and Eastern Plaguelands. Originating in the mountains of Northern Lordaeron near the Terrorweb Tunnel, its blighted waters flow southward into Darrowmere Lake. Once a vibrant trade and travel waterway of the fallen kingdom, it is now flanked by monstrous Scourge beasts and the humble refuge of a legendary hermit.

A River Cut by Ruin

Before the fall of Lordaeron, the Thondroril served as an important waterway connecting northern holdings toward Stratholme and south to Darrowmere Lake. Today, the river marks the hazardous divide between the Western and Eastern Plaguelands. The waters carry the taint of the plague, and its banks are infested with giant maggots, plaguebats, diseased bears, and predatory snapjaws, turning what was once a scenic riverbed into a deadly crossing for travelers.
