WoW Forever Library Books: Rewards, Turn-In NPCs and Where to Find Them
The library books in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever) are collectible books in zones across Azeroth, and you hand them in to Garon Wendell in Stormwind (Alliance) or Owen Thadd in Undercity (Horde) for rewards at 10, 20 and 25 books. Method counts 36 unique books and Warcraft Tavern lists 41 entries in 32 zones, so the exact total depends on how each guide counts.
Quick answer: Start Friend of the Library at level 1 and bring 10 books for a pendant or amulet. Greater Friend of the Library asks for 20 books, then 25 more at level 30, with a ring, a bow or a lamp as the final choices. Books can be handed in one at a time.
Method's list starts with Archmage Theocritus's Research Journal in Elwynn Forest and The Apothecary's Metaphysical Primer in Tirisfal Glades, and Warcraft Tavern's table runs up to Ka-Boom! in Winterspring. One Stormwind or Undercity librarian takes them all.

What do you get for turning in library books?
Each quest counts the books you collected for the earlier ones. According to Warcraft Tavern and Method, the three reward tiers are:
- 10 books: Scholarly Pendant or Erudite's Amulet.
- 20 books: Field Researcher's Loop or Philanthropist's Ring. Method says the character must be level 20.
- 25 books: Truthseeker's Bow, Crest of Elucidation or Researcher's Night Light. Method says the character must be level 30.
Warcraft Tavern says you can hand books in one at a time. Method says no further rewards are known yet.
How many library books are there in WoW Forever?
Method's guide by Geekmandem, dated October 9, 2026, counts 36 unique books: nine in the Eastern Kingdoms and six in Kalimdor at levels 1 to 20, seven at level 30 and above, and 14 at level 40 and above. Warcraft Tavern's table has 41 rows by our count, because it states no total.
The two lists differ in two ways. Warcraft Tavern lists Rumi of Gnomeregan: The Collected Works twice, at the Stoutlager Inn in Thelsamar and the Sentinel Hill Inn in Westfall, but says you cannot take it from both inns. Warcraft Tavern also lists four books that Method's list does not show: Ataeric: On Arcane Curiosities in Silverpine Forest, A Ludite's Guide to Caring for Your Demonic Pet in the Swamp of Sorrows, The Liminal and the Arcane in Feralas, and Conjurer's Codex in the Blasted Lands.
Which library books can you find early, at levels 1 to 20?
In the Eastern Kingdoms, Method's starter list names Archmage Theocritus's Research Journal in Elwynn Forest, Bewitchments and Glamours and Rumi of Gnomeregan in Westfall, Crimes Against Anatomy in Duskwood, Runes of the Sorcerer-Kings in Loch Modan, Goaz Scrolls in Wetlands, Archmage Antonidas: The Unabridged Autobiography in Ironforge, The Apothecary's Metaphysical Primer in Tirisfal Glades and The Dalaran Digest, Vol. 23 in Silverpine Forest.
In Kalimdor it names three books in The Barrens, Nar'thalas Almanac, Vol. 74 in Darkshore, Fury of the Land in Stonetalon Mountains and The Lessons of Ta'zo in Orgrimmar.
Which library books are at level 30 and above?
Method's level 30 group has seven books: Basilisks: Should Petrification be Feared? in Stranglethorn Vale, Geomancy: The Stone-Cold Truth in Thousand Needles, Defensive Magics 101 in Alterac Mountains, RwlRwlRwlRwl! in Dustwallow Marsh, A Web of Lies in Arathi Highlands, Demons and You in Desolace and Mummies: A Guide to the Unsavory Undead in the Badlands.
Its level 40 group has 14, including Necromancy 101 and Undead Potatoes in Western Plaguelands, three books in Eastern Plaguelands and Legends of the Tidesages in Tanaris. Method puts Stonewrought Design in Burning Steppes; Warcraft Tavern puts it in Blackrock Depths.
What should you watch out for?
Method warns that books you delete cannot be looted again as things stand. Warcraft Tavern says its locations are based on Season of Discovery and that "a couple seem to have moved," without naming them. Coordinates also differ between guides, so check each spot in the game.

No source says the list is final, and the totals above differ by guide. Warcraft Tavern bases its locations on Season of Discovery, and neither guide says which higher-level books were checked in the Forever client. The Lore Forever add-on is a free download.
