WoW Forever Loch Modan Guide: Thelsamar, Stonewrought Dam, Trogg Quests and Uldaman

Loch Modan is the Alliance dwarf zone east of Dun Morogh in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever), where characters of roughly levels 10 to 20 work from Thelsamar, fight troggs in the Valley of Kings and face the Dark Irons at Stonewrought Dam. Warcraft Wiki says the original zone remains in Forever. Warcraft Tavern's beta notes say troggs respawn slightly more slowly for the quest In Defense of the King's Lands.

Quick answer: Settle in Thelsamar, take In Defense of the King's Lands and The Trogg Threat in the Valley of Kings, and run A Dark Threat Looms from Chief Engineer Hinderweir VII. A flight path from Thelsamar reaches Ironforge and Menethil Harbor. Wetlands lies north.

Loch Modan quest route from Thelsamar to Uldaman
Route in order: arrive at Thelsamar, defend the Valley of Kings from troggs, hunt crocolisks with Farstrider Lodge, run the Dark Iron chain at Stonewrought Dam, visit Ironband's Excavation Site, then go north to Wetlands.

Warcraft Wiki's Classic page names King Magni Bronzebeard as the ruler of Loch Modan, and Thelsamar is its major settlement.

How do you get to Loch Modan?

Warcraft Wiki's Classic page says other Alliance races reach the zone from Stormwind by the Deeprun Tram, and Dun Morogh borders it to the west. Because there is no Alliance travel hub in the Badlands, the wiki says players fly to Thelsamar and ride from there to reach Uldaman. Read the Ironforge guide for the city.

What is the story of Loch Modan?

Warcraft Wiki says the Horde overran Loch Modan in the Second War and the dwarves of Ironforge later won it back. The loch is held in place by Stonewrought Dam, which the wiki calls "an architectural wonder of no equal on Azeroth." The wiki says dwarven digs unearthed the troggs from caves below, and they now raid travelers from camps in the surrounding mountains. Warcraft Wiki's notable characters list says Hinderweir wants to rid the zone of the Dark Iron dwarves and Prospector Ironband recruits adventurers to investigate the ruins of Uldaman. What is different about Loch Modan in WoW Forever?

Warcraft Tavern's beta notes, written when the level cap rose to 30, say troggs respawn slightly more slowly for In Defense of the King's Lands. The same notes list Uldaman as newly accessible at level 30 and up, and add the new Excavation Site: Wetlands dungeon at levels 26 to 31. Read the Excavation Site: Wetlands guide for that one.
