Who Are Magni and Muradin Bronzebeard? The Dwarf Brothers of Ironforge
Magni Bronzebeard is the king of Ironforge and head of the Bronzebeard dwarves, and Muradin Bronzebeard is his younger brother. In World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever), set in the first year of World of Warcraft, Warcraft Tavern's Forever dwarf guide names King Magni as the leader of the dwarves.
Quick answer: The Bronzebeard clan has ruled Ironforge since the War of the Three Hammers. Magni led the dwarves through the Second War and later took in the gnomes of Gnomeregan. Muradin, his younger brother, is better known for events later in the timeline, outside WoW Forever.
Ironforge sits inside a mountain, and the Bronzebeards hold it. For the clan the story begins with a war between three hammers.

How did the Bronzebeards come to rule Ironforge?
They won it. Warcraft Wiki says that before the War of the Three Hammers the Bronzebeards held close ties to High King Modimus Anvilmar, the Wildhammers lived in the foothills, and the Dark Irons plotted beneath the mountain. When the High King died of old age the three ruling clans went to war for Ironforge, and Madoran Bronzebeard led the Bronzebeards to a decisive victory over the Dark Iron army. Afterward the Bronzebeard clan ruled the clans in Ironforge and the surrounding mountains of Khaz Modan. Blizzard Watch agrees that the Bronzebeards have ruled since that war, which drove out the Dark Irons and Wildhammers and removed the Anvilmar family as High Kings.
Who are Magni and Muradin?
Brothers, three of them. Blizzard Watch calls Magni the eldest of three Bronzebeard brothers and the heir to the throne, who felt bound by duty to rule. Warcraft Wiki's Muradin page calls him Magni's younger brother and Brann's older brother, which makes Brann the youngest. For the dwarves as a people, read the dwarves of Ironforge.
What did Magni do in the Second War?
He held the mountain. Warcraft Wiki says King Magni's dwarves offered to join the Grand Alliance and endured years of bloody siege, and Blizzard Watch says he brought the Khaz Modan dwarves into the Alliance while the Horde besieged the mountains. The Alliance's other side is in the Second War's lore recap and The Orcs of Azeroth.
Why do gnomes live in Ironforge?
Because Magni opened the gates. Warcraft Wiki's Gelbin Mekkatorque page says King Magni granted the gnome survivors of Gnomeregan asylum and a district that became Tinker Town. Blizzard Watch says Magni sheltered Gnomeregan's refugees after the Third War, and Warcraft Tavern's Forever dwarf guide says gnomes live in Ironforge since the Gnomeregan incident. The full story is in Gelbin Mekkatorque and Gnomeregan explained.
Where do you meet Magni Bronzebeard in WoW Forever?
At the heart of the mountain. Warcraft Tavern's Forever dwarf guide lists King Magni Bronzebeard as the dwarves' leader, Ironforge as their capital and Dun Morogh as their starting zone, and says the Hall of Thanes, one of the earliest Alliance dungeons, is entered from King Magni's throne room. Read the Dun Morogh guide, the Ironforge guide and the Hall of Thanes guide.
The free Lore Forever add-on shows readable zone and quest background as you travel, and the optional Willo voice companion can talk through the people you meet. Both are fan-made.
What happens to the Bronzebeards later?
Later in the timeline, outside WoW Forever, Muradin is presumed dead after Arthas takes Frostmourne and returns years afterward, and Magni is petrified. Warcraft Wiki's clan page and Blizzard Watch both cover these events, though they differ on how Magni was turned to stone, and this article leaves them unspoiled.
What is not confirmed yet
- Blizzard has not published Forever's Bronzebeard quests or dialogue.
- Warcraft Tavern's Forever dwarf guide names Magni but does not mention Muradin, and Lore Forever found no source placing Muradin in Forever.
- Of the pages opened, only Warcraft Wiki's Muradin page describes him as Lordaeron's liaison and ambassador before the Third War, so this article does not rely on that.
