WoW Forever Leveling 10 to 30: Zones, Dungeons and XP for Both Factions

Levels 10 to 30 in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever) take you out of your starting zone and onto a faction route: Westfall, Darkshore, Loch Modan or Redridge for the Alliance and the Barrens, Silverpine Forest or Stonetalon Mountains for the Horde at levels 10 to 20, then Duskwood, Wetlands, Ashenvale, Hillsbrad Foothills or Stonetalon Mountains from 20 to 30. The beta stopped at level 30, so this is the stretch of the game the beta fully covered, and the first dungeons open at level 13.

Quick answer: Leave your starting zone at about level 10, quest through one of the two faction routes to level 20 and again to level 30, and run each dungeon once with its quests in your log. Level 30 totals 499,000 XP, about 12% of the 4,084,700 needed for level 60.

The first ten levels teach you where the roads go. After that the roads fork. This is the long middle of the climb, where quests send you across the continents, the first dungeons wait behind their gates, and every flight path you pick up shortens the way home.

Which zones should you level in from 10 to 20?

The road leaves home and the country opens up. For the Alliance, Overgear's route lists Westfall, Darkshore, Loch Modan and Redridge Mountains at levels 10 to 20. For the Horde, it lists the Barrens, Silverpine Forest and Stonetalon Mountains. Overgear also says zones do not change with your character's level, so you choose when to move on. Which zones should you level in from 20 to 30?

The quests grow longer and the roads more dangerous. Overgear's route sends the Alliance to Duskwood, Wetlands and Ashenvale, and the Horde to Hillsbrad Foothills, Stonetalon Mountains and Ashenvale, so Ashenvale is shared ground. Overgear's zone table also lists Thousand Needles at levels 25 to 35, and Warcraft Tavern's beta notes say its respawn rate was raised. At 30 you join the shared route in the 30 to 60 leveling guide.

Which dungeons can you run between 10 and 30?

In both tables the lowest dungeon starts at level 13. Warcraft Tavern's dungeon table and Warcraft Wiki's patch 1.60.1 page give slightly different ranges, so rely on the in-game recommendation.

  • Ragefire Chasm (Orgrimmar): 13 to 18 (Warcraft Tavern), 13 to 19 (Warcraft Wiki).
  • Hall of Thanes (Ironforge, new): 13 to 18 in both.

What changes between level 10 and level 30?

Each milestone is a small gift for the road. Warcraft Tavern's Mage guide has you put talent points into a build from level 10. Warcraft Wiki says the Cozy Sleeping Bag scavenger hunt starts at level 14 in Westfall or the Barrens, and that leveling a class to 25 awards Legacy Points. Warcraft Tavern's level 30 beta news says dungeon quests now give 50% less bonus experience, and that respawn rates rose in Hillsbrad Foothills, Ashenvale, Wetlands, Duskwood and Thousand Needles, all zones on the 20 to 30 routes. What is not confirmed yet

  • Launch ranges: The zone brackets come from beta-era guides and may change when launch servers open on November 4, 2026.
  • Dungeon levels: Warcraft Tavern and Warcraft Wiki differ by up to three levels for the same dungeon.
  • Beta access: Warcraft Tavern's level 30 news says Razorfen Downs opened at level 25 and Uldaman at level 30 in the beta, below the levels in its own dungeon table, and lists Excavation Site: Wetlands at 26 to 31 against 24 to 29 in the table.
