WoW Forever Leveling 30 to 60: Zones, Dungeons and Tips

Levels 31 to 60 are where most of the leveling happens: they hold about 88% of the experience you need to reach the cap. The WoW Forever beta stopped at level 30 and never opened higher levels, so every route for 30 to 60 is built from announced ranges and community plans, not from tested play. This guide lays out the brackets those plans agree on and marks where they do not.

Quick answer: Levels 30 to 40: Thousand Needles, Arathi Highlands, Desolace, Stranglethorn Vale. Levels 35 to 45: the new Riverglades. Levels 40 to 50: Tanaris, Feralas, the Hinterlands. Levels 50 to 60: Un'Goro, Felwood, Winterspring, the Plaguelands and more. Mount Hyjal opens at 60.

What is confirmed, and what is not

Confirmed: The level cap is 60, and the beta never went past level 30. Warcraft Tavern says levels 31 to 60 were never accessible during the beta and raids were not tested.
Community plans: The brackets below come from Overgear and Gamsgo. Gamsgo says levels above 30 are "based on announced ranges, not a completed launch-server run".
Conflicts: The guides disagree on some zone and dungeon ranges, and Overgear's own tables conflict with each other. Where they do, we say so.

How much XP is left after level 30

Warcraft Tavern's experience guide lists the totals. Reaching level 30 takes 499,000 XP in total and reaching level 60 takes 4,084,700. That leaves 3,585,700 XP between 30 and 60, or about 88% of the whole journey. Reaching level 40 takes 1,154,400 in total, level 50 takes 2,306,100, and one level at 59 needs 209,800 on its own.

Levels 30 to 40

Both Overgear and Gamsgo list Thousand Needles, Arathi Highlands, Desolace and Stranglethorn Vale, and they apply to both factions.

Thousand Needles: Games.gg has Horde players enter at 25 and leave at 31 to 33, while Alliance players skip the canyon, arrive at 30 and farm the Shimmering Flats to about 35.
Dungeons: Warcraft Tavern's table lists Gnomeregan and Razorfen Kraul at 29 to 38, the Scarlet Monastery wings from 30 up, and The Drowned City at 35 to 40 in Stranglethorn Vale.

Levels 35 to 45: the Riverglades

The Riverglades is a new zone. Overgear and Gfinity give it 35 to 45, and Gfinity says it launches on November 4. Warcraft Tavern's BlizzCon recap does not confirm a range and says it is "hard to gauge", partly because the zone's dungeon, Krol'Dok Stronghold, was first listed for 40 to 55 (its dungeon table now says 40 to 45). The zone is on the east coast of the Eastern Kingdoms, between Redridge Mountains, Swamp of Sorrows and the Badlands, with a neutral goblin port.

Games.gg says a new Steamwheedle boat runs to Powderfuse Port to reach it, and Gfinity lists a Tanaris to Powderfuse Port route. Neither source says which levels can use it.

Levels 40 to 50

Overgear lists Tanaris, Feralas and the Hinterlands. Gamsgo adds Searing Gorge here, where Overgear puts it in the 50 to 55 bracket.

Dungeons: Zul'Farrak at 40 to 47, Krol'Dok Stronghold at 40 to 45, Uldaman at 36 to 45, Razorfen Downs at 37 to 46, and Maraudon at 45 to 51 (all Warcraft Tavern).
Shen'Dralas: Gfinity gives this new zone 45 to 53. Warcraft Tavern's recap says the range is not confirmed and that it sits hidden between Desolace and Mulgore.

Levels 50 to 60

Overgear splits the final stretch in two. Levels 50 to 55 cover Un'Goro Crater, Felwood, Searing Gorge, the Blasted Lands and Azshara. Levels 55 to 60 cover the Western and Eastern Plaguelands, Winterspring, the Burning Steppes and Silithus. Gamsgo gives 50 to 60 as Un'Goro, Felwood, Winterspring and the Plaguelands.

Dungeons: Alcaz Island Prison 48 to 53, Temple of Atal'Hakkar 50 to 55, Blackrock Depths 52 to 60, Blackmaw Hold 55 to 60, Lower Blackrock Spire 57 to 60 and Shaper's Terrace 58 to 60. The Stratholme, Scholomance and Dire Maul East dungeons are listed at 58 to 60.
Mount Hyjal: described as the level 60 endgame zone, reached from Darkwhisper Gorge, with the Hyjal Summit raid.

Dungeons and quests as XP

Dungeon quests matter more than dungeon trash in Forever. Warcraft Tavern's level 30 notes say dungeon quests give 50% less bonus experience, and Games.gg reports that dungeon mob XP was cut while quest XP rose. Collect the quests before you go in, finish them inside, and do not repeat a dungeon once its quests are done.

Practical tips for the long middle

Plan travel. Zones do not scale and there is no flying, so choose hubs close together and unlock flight paths as you go. Overgear says to stay in nearby zones.
Finish a camp or cave before you leave, turn everything in together and use your Hearthstone.
Riding: Overgear says mounts unlock at 40. Gamsgo says Blizzard confirmed a training cost model but not the required level or price, so treat 40 as unconfirmed.
Legacy: The first Legacy Point is usually earned around level 25, per Blizzard. See the Legacy system guide.
Switch zones when quests run dry, as Overgear advises.
