WoW Forever Stranglethorn Vale Guide: Levels, Booty Bay, Grom'gol and New Quests
Stranglethorn Vale is a contested jungle zone in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever), listed at levels 30 to 45 by Warcraft Wiki and mmonster. Booty Bay is a neutral port, Grom'gol Base Camp is the Horde camp, and the new Drowned City dungeon lies off its coast.
Quick answer: Warcraft Wiki lists Stranglethorn Vale at levels 30 to 45. Booty Bay (neutral) and Grom'gol Base Camp (Horde) are the bases it describes, the Nesingwary and Rebel Camp chains are the long quest lines, and the wiki calls the zone one of the most actively contested areas on PvP servers. Forever Changes lists 13 new quests here.

What level should you be?
Warcraft Wiki and mmonster both give 30 to 45, and mmonster's route has both factions in the zone at 30 to 40. Forever Changes counts 163 Stranglethorn quests; its page header gives 35 to 60, and the table also lists level 30 quests such as Welcome to the Jungle. It includes high entries such as The Monogrammed Sash (50) and Arena Master (55). If you are coming from Duskwood or the Barrens, the leveling 30 to 60 guide shows where the zone fits in the wider route.
How do you get there and where is the base?
Booty Bay is the neutral port, and Warcraft Wiki lists its flights to Stormwind, Sentinel Hill, Darkshire, Grom'gol, Stonard and Kargath, plus a boat to Ratchet. The same page describes Rebel Camp, where Lieutenant Doren's men oppose Colonel Kurzen in the north, and lists an Alliance flight path from Rebel Camp to Darkshire. Grom'gol Base Camp is the Horde base, with zeppelins to Durotar and the Tirisfal Glades. Method's travel-routes page does not mark the Undercity to Grom'gol, Orgrimmar to Grom'gol or Ratchet to Booty Bay routes as new. See the boats and zeppelins guide for more. The travel guide has the wider map.
Which quest chains should you know?
Warcraft Wiki's quest page lists these long chains, with chain quests from level 30 to 46 (the whole table runs to 55):
- Nesingwary's Expedition: Welcome to the Jungle and the mastery quests that follow.
- Rebel Camp chains: Jungle Secrets, Patrol Schedules, Special Forces and Kurzen's Mystery.
- Grom'gol chains: Headhunting, Mok'thardin's Enchantment and The Singing Crystals.
- Booty Bay chains: Passage to Booty Bay, Favor for Krazek, The Stone of the Tides and The Curse of the Tides.

Blizzard describes The Drowned City as a dungeon off the Stranglethorn coast west of Grom'gol, in ancient troll ruins that have risen from the sea, with the entrance found by diving below the water. Warcraft Tavern lists it at levels 35 to 40 and new in Forever. Read the Drowned City guide and the dungeons overview.
Should you expect PvP?
Warcraft Wiki calls the zone one of the most actively contested areas on PvP servers, advises groups of three or more above level 30, and names the Bal'lal Ruins and the Booty Bay to Grom'gol road as ganking hot spots. Our world PvP and honor guide covers open-world fights in Forever.
What about the story?
Warcraft Wiki describes the Gurubashi trolls ruling from Zul'Gurub, Blackwater Cove, the Blackwater Raiders at Booty Bay and the Bloodsail Buccaneers. The free Lore Forever add-on adds readable background at each stop, and the optional Willo companion answers lore questions by voice.
What is not confirmed yet
- Level range: No source I opened shows a Blizzard-published range; Forever Changes' header and table reach higher than the 30 to 45 of Warcraft Wiki and mmonster.
- Quest changes: Forever Changes' New and Changed flags come from beta data and may change at launch.
- Zul'Gurub: Warcraft Tavern's dungeon table and Blizzard's dungeon overview do not list it, so its status in Forever is unconfirmed.
- Chains: Warcraft Wiki's quest pages describe the original chains and do not mention Forever.
