WoW Forever Western Plaguelands Guide: Chillwind Camp, Hearthglen, Andorhal and Quests
Western Plaguelands is the blighted zone of northern Lordaeron in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever), listed at levels 51 to 58, where Alliance players work from Chillwind Camp and Horde players from the Bulwark. Warcraft Wiki says the original zone remains in Forever. It lies beyond the level 30 cap of the beta, and no source has published Forever-specific changes for it.
Quick answer: Take A Call to Arms: The Plaguelands! in a capital city, then base at Chillwind Camp (Alliance) or the Bulwark (Horde). The cauldron quests lead from Felstone Field to Dalson's Tears and the Writhing Haunt, and the Argent Dawn has a camp near Sorrow Hill. Scholomance is the zone's dungeon.

Wowpedia describes Western Plaguelands as former farmland. Uther's Tomb, Andorhal and Sorrow Hill are the names the quests keep returning to.
Key facts
- Level range: 51 to 58 (Warcraft Wiki, Classic page; Mobalytics zone map).
- Capital: Andorhal (Warcraft Wiki). Hearthglen is also a major settlement, and Wowpedia places the Scarlet Crusade's Mardenholde Keep there.

- Flight paths: Chillwind Camp to Ironforge, Southshore, Aerie Peak and Light's Hope Chapel (Warcraft Wiki).

- Dungeon: Scholomance, levels 56 to 61 (Warcraft Wiki).
- Status: A returning zone. Warcraft Wiki says it remains in Classic and Forever.
Which Western Plaguelands quests come first?
Warcraft Wiki's quest page opens at level 50 with A Call to Arms: The Plaguelands!, given by various NPCs in capital cities. It lists these chains:
- Alliance: Dispelling Evil (52) from Commander Ashlam Valorfist at Chillwind Camp leads to Inert Scourgestones from High Priest Thel'danis at Uther's Tomb, and Forging the Mightstone is marked as a dungeon quest.
- Horde: Prove Your Hatred (52) from Mehlar Dawnblade at the Bulwark is followed by Wisdom of the Banshee Queen, and Sylvanas in Undercity gives Ancient Evil, also marked as a dungeon quest.
- Scourge cauldrons: The Scourge Cauldrons (53) leads to Target: Felstone Field, Target: Dalson's Tears and Target: Writhing Haunt (55) for both factions.
- Argent Dawn: Argent Dawn Commission (55) from Argent Officer Pureheart (Alliance) or Argent Officer Garush (Horde).
- Andorhal: Chromie at the Ruins of Andorhal gives The Annals of Darrowshire, Brother Carlin and A Matter of Time (56).
- Sorrow Hill: Marlene Redpath gives A Strange Historian (56).
The page was cut off after Counting Out Time, so more may follow. Read the Argent Dawn guide for the organization, and the leveling 30 to 60 guide and endgame progression guide for the wider path.
What is the story of Western Plaguelands?
Wowpedia describes the region as once farmland, with Hearthglen as the regional seat and Andorhal as the center of grain distribution. Kel'Thuzad and his Cult of the Damned infected the grain exported from Andorhal and set up plague cauldrons in the fields of the four largest farmsteads. The Scarlet Crusade took Mardenholde Keep in Hearthglen as a regional headquarters. Read the Scarlet Crusade guide, the Kel'Thuzad story, the Scourge and plague guide and the Uther the Lightbringer story.
Wowpedia calls Uther's Tomb one of the most notable places in the region and names Caer Darrow as the largest remaining Scourge-held area, with Scholomance beneath it. Warcraft Wiki's Classic page instead describes Scholomance as lying beneath Andorhal, so the sources differ on that detail. Read the Scholomance guide for the dungeon.
The free Lore Forever add-on adds readable background as you stand in each place, and the optional Willo Windows companion answers lore questions by voice.
What is different about Western Plaguelands in WoW Forever?
No source says. Warcraft Tavern's beta notes about level 30 content do not mention the Plaguelands, which sit well above the beta's level cap. The Classic page's mention of patch 1.1.0 adding dozens of quests is original-game history, not a Forever change.
What is not confirmed yet
- Forever changes: No source lists any.
- Scholomance's location: Wowpedia places it beneath Caer Darrow and Warcraft Wiki's Classic page beneath Andorhal.
- Quest list: Warcraft Wiki's quest page was only read in part, and Hearthglen and Mardenholde Keep do not appear in the part I read.
- Beta data: The beta had a level 30 cap (Warcraft Tavern), and Blizzard News gives the launch as November 4, 2026. Details may change.
