WoW Forever Tanaris and Uldum Guide: Gadgetzan, Zul'Farrak and the Sealed Titan City

Tanaris is a contested desert zone of southeastern Kalimdor in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever), listed at levels 40 to 50, built around the goblin town of Gadgetzan and the Zul'Farrak dungeon, with the ancient titan city of Uldum in its southern reaches. No source we read says Uldum can be entered in Forever: Forever Codex, a community database that reads the beta client, lists Uldum in the area list with no level and does not call it new.

Quick answer: Fly to Gadgetzan, the hub for both factions. Zul'Farrak is the dungeon, and one Forever addition is a boat from Steamwheedle Port to the Riverglades. In the original game, Warcraft Wiki says the Stone Watcher claimed only beings with the Plates of Uldum could enter Uldum.

Tanaris route from Gadgetzan to the Valley of the Watchers — Route in order: fly to Gadgetzan, the goblin town; level 45 quests at Steamwheedle Port with a new boat to Powderfuse Port in the Riverglades; Zul'Farrak, a dungeon at levels 43 to 48 on Warcraft Wiki and 40 to 47 on Warcraft Tavern; the Valley of the Watchers; and Uldum, the titan city that required the Plates of Uldum in the original game.

Warcraft Wiki says goblins from Undermine founded Gadgetzan and Steamwheedle Port, the bronze dragonflight is based at the Caverns of Time, and the titans held the city of Uldum in the southern desert.

Where is Gadgetzan, and how do you travel from it?

Gadgetzan is the hub of Tanaris. Warcraft Wiki lists its flight paths to Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff, the Crossroads, Camp Taurajo, Theramore Isle, Brackenwall Village, Thalanaar, Camp Mojache, Marshal's Refuge and Cenarion Hold. Plan your arrival with the Feralas guide, the travel guide and the 30 to 60 leveling guide.

What quests are in Gadgetzan and Steamwheedle Port?

Goblins from Undermine founded Steamwheedle Port and Gadgetzan, per Warcraft Wiki and Wowpedia. Warcraft Wiki's quest table lists neutral chains in Gadgetzan such as Water Pouch Bounty (44) and the Noggenfogger chain (49), and at Steamwheedle Port Southsea Shakedown (45) from Security Chief Bilgewhizzle. Stoley's Debt (45) begins in Booty Bay. Horde players start with Apothecary Zinge's Into the Field (46) in Undercity and Chief Engineer Bilgewhizzle's Slake That Thirst (46). Alliance players follow Feralas: A History (47) and The Borrower (48), given by Daryn Lightwind in Rut'theran Village, to Curgle Cranklehop's The Super Snapper FX (48) in Gadgetzan. Forever Codex counts 58 quests at Gadgetzan and 21 at Steamwheedle Port.

What is Zul'Farrak?

Zul'Farrak is the zone's one instance, a five-player dungeon. Warcraft Wiki calls it Tanaris's single instance, says it takes three to four hours and lists the Farraki tribe among the zone's affiliations. It also mentions several micro dungeons and lists Sandsorrow Watch and the Valley of the Watchers among the elite areas. Forever Codex reports eight bosses. Because the three sources disagree on its levels, check the in-game finder, and read the dungeons overview.

What is Uldum, and can you enter it?

Uldum is a titan city, and the sources agree on where it sits. Warcraft Wiki and Wowpedia both say the titans hold the ancient city of Uldum in the south of the desert. Warcraft Wiki's page on the Ruins of Uldum places the ruins in the southern part of the Valley of the Watchers and says the Stone Watcher of Norgannon claims that only beings with the Plates of Uldum may enter. The Cataclysm, a later expansion outside WoW Forever, opened the gate. Its Plates of Uldum page says none of the Plates themselves appear in the game. Wowpedia lists the Alliance quest Portents of Uldum (level 50, requires 45), which High Explorer Muninn Magellas gives in Ironforge, with the turn-in to Historian Karnik in the Hall of Explorers, and which leads on to Seeing What Happens and The Stone Watcher. No source says what happens at the gate in Forever.

What else does Tanaris hold?

Warcraft Wiki says the time dragon Nozdormu is associated with Tanaris and that the bronze dragonflight is based at the Caverns of Time. Wowpedia repeats this and, like Warcraft Wiki, adds that Anachronos learned of the silithid threat here, which led to the War of the Shifting Sands in neighboring Silithus. The free Lore Forever add-on adds readable background at each camp, and the optional Willo companion answers lore questions by voice. For the new sea link, read the Riverglades guide.
