Deadwind Pass

The story

Deadwind Pass is a blighted, jagged canyon in central Azeroth connecting Duskwood to the Swamp of Sorrows. At its center looms the Ivory Spire of Karazhan, former seat of the Guardian Medivh, whose death unleashed corrupting magical runoff across the land. It is a lifeless corridor stalked by ogres, ghosts, and demonic winds, offering neither refuge nor civilized shelter.

Once considered an extension of the Redridge Mountains, Deadwind Pass has devolved into a hollowed-out scar of bleached stone and petrified wood. A foul, relentless wind cuts through the ravines, giving the gorge its name. The sky above is locked in a perpetual sepulchral gray, threatening erratic lightning storms that make traveling with metal arms hazardous. Totemic effigies hang from lifeless branches alongside the main road, warning wayfarers to keep moving. There are no fertile soils here, no mineable mineral veins, and no towns or flight masters to offer aid.
