Karazhan
Karazhan is the ominous, secluded tower standing at the southern end of Deadwind Pass. Once the sanctum of Medivh, the Last Guardian of Tirisfal, the citadel sits atop a potent convergence of ley lines that warps time, space, and reality around it. Though Medivh was slain during the First War, the abandoned fortress still hums with volatile arcane energy, restless spirits, and hidden dangers.
The Guardian's Spire
Long before the First War, the tower of Karazhan was raised upon ground shaped like a human skull, situated at a massive nexus of mystical ley lines. It served as a secluded refuge and repository of untold magical secrets for the Guardian Medivh. Within its curving halls, Medivh lived alongside his loyal castellan Moroes, entertaining noble guests and housing an immense archive of arcane texts and relics that eclipsed even the libraries of the Kirin Tor. Yet the tower was also the stage for Azeroth's greatest betrayal, as Medivh fell under the demonic possession of Sargeras and secretly orchestrated the opening of the Dark Portal.
A Haunted Threshold
Following Medivh's death at the hands of Anduin Lothar and his apprentice Khadgar, Karazhan sealed its gates and was left to decay. However, the tower has never truly slept. Its intersection of potent ley lines continues to warp the fabric of reality, casting ghostly echoes, illusions, and temporal distortions across Deadwind Pass. Rumors persist that an evil presence has begun stirring inside the quiet fortress once more, and strange entities—including the shadowy Dark Riders who scour the surrounding lands for forgotten relics—are inexorably drawn to its towering silhouette.
