Sargeras
Sargeras is the fallen titan and supreme creator of the Burning Legion, bent on scouring all life from the cosmos. Once the noble champion and defender of the Pantheon, his descent into madness led to the Sundering of ancient Azeroth and nearly every demonic catastrophe since.
Champion of the Pantheon
Before his fall, Sargeras was the greatest and noblest warrior among the titans. Entrusted by the Pantheon of Order to safeguard their grand creations across the Great Dark Beyond, he waged war against the chaotic demons spawned from the Twisting Nether. Incapable of conceiving pure evil, Sargeras trapped countless fiends away within a great prison. Yet eons of relentless warfare against cosmic horrors gradually wore down his altruistic spirit.
Despair and the Burning Crusade
Over eons of battle, Sargeras's faith in the titans' work eroded. Despairing at the evil he faced, he concluded that creation was fundamentally flawed and that order could never truly prevail. Turning his back on the Pantheon, he shattered the demons' prison, embraced the chaotic fel fire he had once fought, and marshaled the liberated demons into the unstoppable Burning Legion.
Obsession with Azeroth
Ten thousand years ago, the reckless magic of Queen Azshara and her Highborne reached across the stars, alerting Sargeras to Azeroth's existence. Whispering through the depths of the Well of Eternity, the Dark Titan seduced Azshara into opening a portal for his vanguard. Though that ancient invasion culminated in the catastrophic Sundering, Sargeras never ceased scheming to consume Azeroth—orchestrating the opening of the Dark Portal and guiding the demonic corruption of the orcish Horde.
