Master's Cellar

The Master's Cellar is a sprawling subterranean complex situated beneath the ruined settlement south of Karazhan in Deadwind Pass. Once serving Medivh's estate as wine cellars and storage vaults, it has descended into a haunted ruin teeming with the restless spectres of former servants and caretakers.

Haunted Underbelly of Karazhan

Just south of the imposing tower of Karazhan lie the ruined remnants of a hamlet that once housed the servants, groundskeepers, and attendants who maintained Medivh's estate. Beneath these crumbled homes sits the Master's Cellar. Accessible through two separate entrances in the surface ruins, the complex expands far underground. One doorway opens into an extensive vaulted wine cellar, while the other descends through collapsed stonework into deep natural caverns. Whatever dark demise befell Karazhan and its master swallowed this basement as well, leaving the unliving remnants of caretakers, wailing spectres, and damned souls trapped in endless servitude.

The Lower Caverns

The deepest recesses of the complex, designated the Lower Cellar, reveal where the cellar floor gave way into the raw subterranean rock of Deadwind Pass. The cellar's foundations crumbled into these cavern systems, creating a jagged labyrinth that echoes with ghostly wails. While adventurers exploring the Pass rarely find living souls here, the pervasive magical corruption leaking from the nearby tower has firmly anchored these apparitions to the stone, making the caverns as perilous as the ruins above.
