WoW Forever PvP Servers and Realm List: What Blizzard Says

World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever) shows no realm list and no named PvP servers: Blizzard calls its structure realmless and has you choose a ruleset, Normal, PvP, Roleplay or Roleplay PvP, instead of a traditional realm-selection screen; Hardcore comes after launch. The PvP ruleset is the one for fighting other players, and on it you can create characters for only one faction. As of the morning of November 4, 2026, the day WoW Forever opens at 3:00 p.m. PST.

Quick answer: Look for rulesets, not server names. Pick PvP or Roleplay PvP when you create your character, and agree the ruleset and faction with friends first.

What replaces the realm list in WoW Forever: Normal, PvP, Roleplay, Roleplay PvP and Hardcore (after launch) are rulesets, each a broad player ecosystem; grouping needs the same ruleset and faction, and PvP allows only one faction.
The rulesets in Blizzard's October 22 article and launch post of November 3.

Old Azeroth asked you to pick the right realm and hope. Forever asks what kind of road you want to walk.

Key facts

  • Realm list: none; rulesets replace the realm-selection screen (Blizzard)
  • Rulesets at launch: Normal, PvP, Roleplay, Roleplay PvP; Hardcore sometime after launch (Blizzard)
  • PvP: "almost always at risk of being attacked by opposing players" (Blizzard)
  • Factions: one faction only on PvP; both allowed on Normal, Roleplaying and Hardcore (Blizzard)
  • Grouping: same ruleset and faction only; battlegrounds may mix rulesets except Hardcore (Blizzard)

Is there a WoW Forever server list or realm list?

No Forever list exists on Blizzard's pages I opened. The launch post says your journey starts with a ruleset "rather than a traditional realm-selection screen," and that each ruleset works as a broad player ecosystem. Blizzard's Realm Status page, opened on the morning of November 4, had no Forever entry: its Game Version menu listed World of Warcraft, World of Warcraft Classic, Burning Crusade Classic and Mists of Pandaria Classic, and its realm table held modern WoW realms. Blizzard's October 22 article calls the structure "realmless"; the wording "mega-realm" (Warcraft Wiki) and "megaservers" (Method) is the outlets' own, not Blizzard's; see mega-realms and realms and regions.

What are the WoW Forever PvP servers?

The PvP ruleset. Blizzard says it lets you focus on player versus player combat, and Blizzard's Starter Guide adds the risk of attack through much of the open world. Roleplay PvP adds strict naming and behavior rules to the same PvP focus. On the Normal ruleset you fight other players at your own discretion. Blizzard's launch post also names a 15 versus 15 battleground on the Darkspear Islands. For PvP systems, see world PvP and honor and the RP-PvP ruleset.

Can you play both factions on a PvP ruleset?

No. Blizzard's October 22 article says that once you create an Alliance character on the PvP ruleset you cannot create a Horde character there, and the reverse. It adds that Forever will use systems to keep Horde and Alliance populations closer together, similar to Season of Discovery, where creation could be temporarily limited for a faction. TimeSaver, a site that also sells boosting services, reported on November 2 that the block had come and gone since October 27, mostly for Horde, and that Blizzard had not said whether it stays at launch. Details: faction balance.

How do you see what is available when you log in?

Blizzard says the first login asks for an Experience Preset and then your ruleset, and that you choose the ruleset before you create the character. The Starter Guide says Normal, PvP, Roleplay and Roleplay-PvP are available at launch. No Blizzard page I opened shows a server-status list for Forever or says how to check a ruleset's load, so the character creation screen is where you will see your options. Choose with which ruleset to pick.

Can you move between rulesets or play with friends on another?

You cannot freely switch: Blizzard says you must create a new character in the other ruleset. Cross-ruleset grouping, dungeons and raids are not supported, and Horde and Alliance cannot group. A Hardcore character that dies may transfer to another ruleset, including PvP, per Blizzard. See switching rulesets.

What is not confirmed yet

  • How many servers or layers sit behind each ruleset; Blizzard's pages I opened do not say.
  • Whether the PvP faction restriction applies on launch day, and for how long.

How can the Lore Forever add-on and Willo help with this?

Whatever ruleset you choose, the free Lore Forever add-on gives the story behind the zone and quests in front of you, for levels 1 to 30. Willo can answer "which ruleset?" by voice, free to start with 50 answers a day. Both are fan-made, not affiliated with Blizzard, and Willo can be wrong.
