WoW Forever Riding Trainer Locations: Names and Map Coordinates by Race
In World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever) you learn Riding at level 40 from your own race's riding trainer, for example Randal Hunter at about 84.3, 64.9 in Elwynn Forest for Humans or Kildar at about 69.4, 13.1 in Orgrimmar for Orcs. Warcraft Tavern's riding guide lists a trainer, a mount vendor and map coordinates for each race, and Method names the same trainers and general locations.
Quick answer: Find your race's trainer below, bring 100 gold at level 40, and treat the coordinates as approximate because Warcraft Tavern's own pages differ by a fraction. Other races' trainers need Exalted reputation. Details as of October 28, 2026.
Every playable race has its own riding trainer, so the place to go at level 40 depends on your home race.

How much does riding cost, and do you need reputation?
Warcraft Tavern and Method agree that Apprentice Riding is learned at level 40 for 100 gold and that the level 40 mount gives a 60 percent speed bonus. Both list Journeyman Riding at 1,000 gold; Warcraft Tavern's table puts it at level 60 with 200-gold mounts at 100 percent speed, and Method describes a level 60 epic mount with a 100 percent speed increase at 200 gold each. Whether the first mount is included in the 100 gold or costs 20 gold more differs between the two guides, so check at the trainer. Honored with your home faction gives 10 percent off, and Warcraft Tavern's Night Elf, Human and Orc pages list 5, 10, 15 and 20 percent at Friendly, Honored, Revered and Exalted. Method mentions only the Honored 10 percent and says barter can add up to 10 percent on mounts. The full price list is in the mounts guide.
Which classes skip the trainer?
Warcraft Tavern says Paladins and Warlocks will not go through this process and instead learn to ride and get their unique mounts through class quests, and that the new Forsaken Paladins get their own mount quests in Forever. Method names Strahad Farsan in Ratchet for the level 40 Warlock quest and The Tome of Nobility for Alliance Paladins, and says the similar Horde Paladin quest could not be tested in the beta. See the Paladin and Warlock guides.
What is not confirmed yet?
- Coordinates: Warcraft Tavern's race pages differ slightly from its riding table: its Human page gives Katie Hunter at 84.1, 65.4, its Orc page gives Ogunaro Wolfrunner at 69.4, 13.0, its Night Elf page gives Darnassus at 38.5, 16.7, and its Tauren page gives Bloodhoof Village as around 46.8, 61.9. Use the figures above as a guide, not exact pins.
- Beta discount bug: a caption on Warcraft Tavern's Human page says the Friendly reputation discount was bugged in the beta, and Method's page is internally unclear about whether the Honored discount applies to the Riding skill itself.
- Beta limits: Warcraft Tavern's beta guide says the beta cap stayed at level 30, so riding at level 40 was not available to test there.
The free Lore Forever add-on adds readable zone and quest background while you play; it is fan-made.
