Scarlet Monastery

The story

Perched in the northeastern hills of Tirisfal Glades, the Scarlet Monastery was once a peaceful sanctuary and center of learning for the Church of the Holy Light. Following the fall of Lordaeron, it was seized and heavily fortified by the Scarlet Crusade as their primary forward base in the west. Now, it stands as a sprawling stronghold divided into four wings, where fanatical zealots train, torture captives, and wage an uncompromising war against all outsiders.

Before the Third War, the monastery served as a proud seat of Lordaeron's priesthood and a seminary for fledgling paladins of the Silver Hand, once cherished by Archbishop Alonsus Faol himself. Following the Scourge's devastation, surviving crusaders purged the halls of lingering undead and spiders, transforming the tranquil archives and courtyards into a fortified garrison. Driven by paranoia and grief, the Scarlet Crusade came to view all outsiders—living or undead, human or otherwise—as carriers of the plague who must be cleansed with fire.
