Scarlet Monastery
Perched in the northeastern hills of Tirisfal Glades, the Scarlet Monastery was once a peaceful center of scholarship and worship for the Church of the Holy Light. In the wake of Lordaeron's fall, it has become a heavily fortified redoubt for the fanatical Scarlet Crusade. Anyone approaching without red colors is treated as an infected carrier of the plague and executed on sight.
From Sanctuary to Stronghold
Before the Third War, this complex was a proud bastion of Lordaeron's priesthood, serving as a vital center for theological study, sacred archives, and paladin training. When the Kingdom of Lordaeron fell to the Scourge, surviving defenders held the site against the undead. As they devolved into the zealous Scarlet Crusade, they fortified the cloister, turning its peaceful libraries, gardens, and cathedral into an armed citadel.
A Bastion of Fanaticism
Divided into four distinct wings—a defiled graveyard, an expansive library, an armory, and a grand cathedral—the Monastery now houses a massive garrison commanded by Scarlet Commander Mograine and High Inquisitor Whitemane. The Crusaders here view all outsiders, whether living or undead, Alliance or Horde, as plague-bearers. While the Forsaken seek to eliminate the garrison threatening their very doorstep, Alliance leadership increasingly views the Crusade's violent extremism as a dangerous perversion of the Light.
