Shaman Leveling Guide in WoW Forever: Enhancement Leads
Five sources name Enhancement for leveling a Shaman in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever): Method says "Enhancement is the strongest leveling specialization for Shamans," Warcraft Tavern calls a melee Enhancement build the cleanest path, and NoobToBoss, SeeMeta and Gamer Guides list it too. All were written for a beta capped at level 30.
Quick answer: Open with Lightning Bolt, keep Rockbiter Weapon on your weapon, add Earth Shock, and collect each totem through its class quest. Stormstrike arrives at level 25 and Windfury Weapon at 30. Launch is November 4, 2026 with a level 60 cap (Blizzard); builds for levels 31 to 60 are not published.
The Shaman earns the totems on the road, one element at a time. Most of the arguing is about whether to stand at range or in the melee.

Which spec should a Shaman level in WoW Forever?
Enhancement. Tavern says Elemental stays at range but suffers inconsistent procs and mana starvation, and that its balance is still in flux; Restoration is "sub-optimal" for solo leveling, and it suggests waiting for dual-spec at level 40 unless you level with a group. NoobToBoss (see fastest leveling class) says Shaman "has a mana problem before level 30" and that damage improves a lot once Stormstrike arrives at 25 and Windfury Weapon at 30. Which weapon and stats should a leveling Shaman use?
Method says to use a two-hander, or a one-hander and shield, with Rockbiter Weapon at levels 1 to 30, calling it "much better than" Flametongue or Frostbrand at those levels, then a two-hander with Windfury Weapon from 30. The stat advice differs. Method puts Agility first, then Strength, Stamina and Intellect. Tavern's Enhancement build lists Hit and Expertise, Strength, Intellect, Critical Strike, Spell Damage, then Agility. wow.gg (dated 10/01/2026, covering levels to 20) starts with weapon damage, preferably a slow two-hander. How do totems work for a leveling Shaman?
Tavern says the four base totems come from class quests, in the order Earth, Fire, Water, Air. Tavern lists Earth Shock at level 4 and Flame Shock at 10. Method lists Searing Totem at 10, Magma Totem at 26 and Windfury Totem at 32, and calls Earthbind Totem useful for holding mobs. Tavern adds that totem twisting is no longer possible and that Improved Ghost Wolf makes Ghost Wolf instant and usable indoors; Method says Ghost Wolf, learned at 20, gives +40% movement speed and to take Improved Ghost Wolf 2/2 before then.
How should a Shaman handle mana and a first dungeon?
Tavern says mana is still an issue and to carry level-appropriate water, and that Cooking keeps a Well Fed buff for 5% extra experience. In a group, Method says "Don't be afraid to tank dungeons as a Shaman while leveling," with a one-hander and shield; Tavern says Enhancement could tank lower-end dungeons "with some grit." Method adds that Fire Nova now generates threat for the Shaman instead of the totems. Read dungeon groups and tanks and healers.
