How to Use an Invite-A-Friend Code in WoW Forever (Nov 4-11)

To use an Invite-A-Friend code in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever), redeem it on Battle.net or in the Battle.net app by November 11, 2026, on a single World of Warcraft account that has not bought any Forever upgrade; Blizzard Support says the account then has access from November 4 through November 11 without a subscription. As of November 5, 2026, the game having launched on November 4.

Quick answer: The friend who receives the code redeems it on their own Battle.net account, then installs and plays WoW: Forever. A code is not Game Time, gives no Skyborne race and no beta access, and stops working for access on November 11. Anyone with an active subscription does not need one.

How to use an Invite-A-Friend code in WoW Forever: the buyer receives separate code emails, sends one code to a friend, the friend redeems it on Battle.net on an account with no Forever upgrade, and has access from November 4 to 11, 2026 without a subscription.
The path of one code, from Blizzard Support's Invite-A-Friend article, read November 5, 2026.

  • One code, one account: redeemable on a single World of Warcraft account (Blizzard Support)

How do you redeem an Invite-A-Friend code?

Blizzard Support says codes can be redeemed on Battle.net or through the Battle.net app, and gives no click-by-click menu path in the text I read, so I will not invent one. The practical order is: get the code from the buyer, sign in to the friend's own Battle.net account, redeem the code, then install World of Warcraft: Forever by choosing it among the game versions in the Battle.net app, as Blizzard's Starter Guide describes and as in how to download and install.

Who can use a code, and who gets codes?

Anyone whose account has not bought a Forever upgrade can redeem one; Blizzard says codes are not redeemable on accounts that purchased any upgrade. On the sending side, Blizzard Support says the Skyborne Heroic Pack grants one code, and the Skyborne Epic Pack and the World of Warcraft: Forever Collection grant three. Upgrading from Heroic adds two more; Epic to the Collection adds none. A Collector's Edition from the Blizzard Gear Store also includes three, and Collector's Editions bought at local stores in Korea, Australia and New Zealand do not qualify.

What does the code give, and what happens on November 11?

Access to WoW: Forever for the first week, from November 4 through November 11, 2026. The Support article says access ends on November 11 and says nothing about the friend's characters afterward; its other answers point to an active subscription. See is WoW Forever free and subscription cost.

What if the code does not work?

Codes go to the buyer's registered Battle.net email, one email per code, so check junk folders and the Transaction History for a Complete order; refunded or charged-back orders lose their codes. If a code was lost or already redeemed on another account, Support cannot replace it, and for a code claimed on the wrong account it cannot assist; in each case it says an active subscription grants access instead.

Can you play with the friend who used the code?

Only inside the same ruleset and faction. Blizzard's Starter Guide says groups, guilds, dungeons and raids are limited to the same ruleset and faction, so agree both first. See how to play with friends and which ruleset to pick, and the Invite-A-Friend overview.

What is not confirmed yet

  • The hour on November 11 when access ends; Blizzard gives dates only.
  • The click path for redeeming, which the Support text does not spell out.

How can the Lore Forever add-on and Willo help with this?

The Lore Forever add-on is a free, fan-made add-on, not affiliated with Blizzard, with no internet access, that gives quests and places short stories to read as you go. Willo is a separate companion app for Windows 10 or 11; her page also lists an Apple Silicon Mac download (macOS 12 or later) and her FAQ now says Windows and Mac, though CurseForge still describes her as a Windows app. She is free to start with 50 answers a day, has a Friends tab that shows who is out in the world when they share it, and can be wrong; Blizzard's pages are the source of truth.
