How to Heal Your First Dungeon in WoW Forever: 6 Steps
To heal your first dungeon in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever), play Priest, Paladin, Druid or Shaman, keep the tank alive first, match each spell to the damage coming in and treat mana as your real health bar. Warcraft Tavern's dungeon list puts Ragefire Chasm and Hall of Thanes lowest, both at levels 13 to 18.
Quick answer: Warcraft Tavern's class guides pair a steady heal for steady damage, a big heal cast early for heavy hits and a fast heal for emergencies. NoobToBoss calls Holy Priest the most forgiving healer for new players. Every guide cited here was written for a beta capped at level 30.

Behind every pull stands someone who watches green bars while everyone else watches the monster.
Key facts
- Healing classes: Priest, Paladin, Druid and Shaman (Warcraft Tavern)
- Priest spells by level: Lesser Heal 1, Power Word: Shield 6, Renew 8, Heal 16 (Warcraft Tavern, Priest leveling guide)
- Beginner pick: Holy Priest, "the most forgiving choice for new healers" (NoobToBoss, October 19)
- Mana talents: Discipline Priests, Druids (Reflection) and Shamans (Mindfulness) keep 50% of mana regeneration while casting (Warcraft Tavern)
Which class should you heal with in WoW Forever?
Any of the four can, and sources differ on the gentlest start. NoobToBoss's October 19 tier list calls Holy Priest the most forgiving, Discipline Priest beginner-friendly if you like shielding, Restoration Druid smooth in dungeons but needing more planning, Restoration Shaman a good all-rounder, and Holy Paladin strong on single targets but weaker on mana and group healing. See best healer class and tanks and healers.
Which spells do you use in a first dungeon?
Warcraft Tavern's Priest leveling guide lists Lesser Heal at level 1, Power Word: Shield at 6, Renew at 8 and Heal at 16. Its Holy Priest guide says healers follow no set rotation and respond to damage as it comes, with Renew for steady damage and Power Word: Shield to prevent pushback on you and the tank. Its Restoration Druid guide names Rejuvenation and Healing Touch, and warns that relying on heals over time leaves you less able to react to sudden damage. Shamans use Healing Wave as the big, long-cast heal and Lesser Healing Wave for emergencies at more mana. Holy Paladins cast Holy Light ahead of heavy damage and Flash of Light for lighter damage.
How do you keep your mana up?
Warcraft Tavern's Holy Priest guide says alternating healing spells saves mana, and its Restoration Druid guide says there is "no point" casting a maximum-rank heal on a target not taking enough damage. wow.gg's Holy Priest guide calls mana management the Priest's most important skill and advises finishing enemies with a wand and keeping potions stocked. Warcraft Tavern says Shamans are notoriously mana intensive. See the five-second rule.
How do you avoid pulling aggro as a healer?
Warcraft Tavern says to use Fade if your threat starts to get out of control, before you pull aggro, and Blizzard says Fade's threat reduction was doubled. Warcraft Wiki's Threat page, which is general and marked outdated, says healing creates threat equal to half the effective healing, divided among the enemies that saw it, and ignores overhealing. See threat and aggro explained.
What do healers do in Ragefire Chasm, Wailing Caverns and Hall of Thanes?
In Ragefire Chasm, Warcraft Tavern calls Oggleflint a tank-and-spank where you focus on the tank, says Jergosh's damage makes mana management key, and says Bazzalan's Deadly Poison should be cleansed. In Wailing Caverns (Warcraft Tavern says levels 17 to 24, Warcraft Wiki's table 19 to 25), Lord Cobrahn's Druid's Slumber can sleep you for 8 seconds, so the tank should use cooldowns, and healers should stay far from Mutanus's Terrify. In the Hall of Thanes, it says Magmatus deals area fire damage in melee range.
What is not confirmed yet
- Levels 31 to 60: the beta ended at level 30, and the launch cap is 60.
- Spell ranks and mana costs: none of these guides lists them.
- Warcraft Wiki's Threat page is general and marked outdated, so Forever's numbers may differ.
- Dungeon level ranges differ between Warcraft Tavern and Warcraft Wiki.
How can the Lore Forever add-on and Willo help you heal?
The free Lore Forever add-on, fan-made and not affiliated with Blizzard, links a dungeon primer in chat as you enter, with the bosses in order, for dungeons up to level 30, including the Hall of Thanes. Willo, a Windows companion app, lets you ask out loud what to do next, hear the answer, and keep a notebook of to-dos. She is free to start with 50 answers a day, works without the add-on, and can be wrong.
