Best Healer in WoW Forever: Disc Priest Tops 3 of 4 Lists

Three of the four healer tier lists I could open for World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever) rate Discipline Priest S tier: NoobToBoss, RankedBoost and Gamer Guides. SeeMeta's raid list disagrees and puts Discipline in B. Restoration Druid, Restoration Shaman and Holy Paladin swap places below, and every list was made on a beta capped at level 30.

Quick answer: Four classes can heal in WoW Forever: Priest, Paladin, Druid and Shaman. Discipline Priest is the most common top grade, NoobToBoss calls Holy Priest the most forgiving, and Blizzard says Paladins can excel at single-target healing. Launch is November 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST (Blizzard).

Healer tiers from four sources: Discipline Priest is S at NoobToBoss, RankedBoost and Gamer Guides; Restoration Shaman is A, S and A; Restoration Druid is A, A and S; Holy Paladin is B, A and A; Holy Priest is A, B and B. SeeMeta's raid list rates Discipline Priest B, Restoration Shaman S, Restoration Druid A, Holy Paladin A and Holy Priest S.
Healing spec tiers from NoobToBoss, RankedBoost, Gamer Guides and SeeMeta (raid). Beta rankings, as of October 29, 2026.

Behind every pull stands someone who watches green bars while everyone else watches the monster. When the Deadmines or Wailing Caverns go wrong, the group looks to its healer.

Key facts

  • Healing specs: Restoration Druid, Holy Paladin, Discipline and Holy Priest, Restoration Shaman (Warcraft Tavern)
  • NoobToBoss (October 19): Discipline Priest S; Holy Priest, Restoration Druid and Restoration Shaman A; Holy Paladin B
  • RankedBoost (updated October 17): Restoration Shaman and Discipline Priest S; Restoration Druid and Holy Paladin A; Holy Priest B
  • Gamer Guides (updated October 18): Discipline Priest and Restoration Druid S; Restoration Shaman and Holy Paladin A; Holy Priest B
  • SeeMeta (October 16, raid tiers): Restoration Shaman and Holy Priest S; Restoration Druid and Holy Paladin A; Discipline Priest B

Which healer class do the tier lists rank highest?

Discipline Priest, on three of the four lists. NoobToBoss credits Penance and shields that prevent damage, though it notes Penance arrives only at level 30. Everything below the top shifts: Restoration Shaman is S at RankedBoost and A elsewhere, Restoration Druid is S at Gamer Guides and A elsewhere, and Holy Paladin is B at NoobToBoss and A at the other two. Holy Priest is A at NoobToBoss and B at both others.

SeeMeta is the exception. Its tier list covers raids only, was updated October 16, and says nobody has raid logs yet. It rates Holy Priest and Restoration Shaman S, Restoration Druid and Holy Paladin A, and Discipline Priest B.

Kami Labs, in an October 21 opinion piece, wrote that the Priest "will probably be the WoW Forever class that heals best". NoobToBoss says its top four specs are close, so playstyle matters.

How do the four healing classes differ?

Discipline Priest an incredibly solid tank healer but not as effective at non-tank healing, and Holy Priest an incredibly solid raid healer. For Restoration Shaman it says Chain Heal is a powerhouse of a spell and that Shamans are notoriously mana intensive. Restoration Druid spreads steady heal-over-time spells, which its guide says leave you less able to react to sudden damage.

Holy Paladin is the single-target specialist. Blizzard's October 15 class deep dive says Paladins can be "the strongest single-target healers in the game" after the changes it describes, but that healing an entire party at once requires more planning. Warcraft Tavern says Light's Vigil is its only source of area healing and is costly. See the Paladin guide, Priest guide, Druid guide and Shaman guide.

Which healer is easiest for a beginner?

NoobToBoss calls Holy Priest the most forgiving choice for new healers. Warcraft Tavern's Priest leveling guide cautions that leveling primarily as a healer is not recommended because of slow kill times. Healers are in demand: Warcraft Tavern's dungeons guide says it is not uncommon to wait around for a tank or healer. Read Tanks and healers and dungeon groups.

What is not confirmed yet

  • The beta stopped at level 30. NoobToBoss notes Prayer of Mending is not available at that cap and Wild Growth does not unlock until level 40.
  • RankedBoost's class page rates Paladin S for healing, but its healer list puts Holy Paladin in A.
  • No source I opened has tested healing in a level 60 raid, and SeeMeta's raid list disagrees with the other three on Discipline Priest.

How can the Lore Forever add-on and Willo help with this?

The free Lore Forever add-on links a primer when you enter a dungeon it covers, with the overview, why you are there and the bosses in order, plus recorded narration for the zone and a Lore button on quests. Willo, a Windows companion app, lets you ask out loud and hear the answer, talk to the characters you target, and keep a notebook of to-dos for each character. She is free to start with 50 answers a day, works without the add-on, and can be wrong.
