Forsaken Kingdom and Unbowed Explained for WoW Forever
Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom is a new campaign about the four years between Warcraft III and World of Warcraft, and "Unbowed" is a short story for World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever) in which Cormack, a former Scarlet Crusader raised as Forsaken, asks whether a Forsaken can still serve the Light. Blizzard says the Forsaken Paladin's origins are introduced in the campaign, with story threads continuing into Forever.
Quick answer: Forsaken Kingdom follows Garek Bandarion and Dark Ranger Anya from Arthas's return to Lordaeron to the emergence of the Undercity. Unbowed, by Sean Copeland, tells Cormack's tale by the fireside.

Every Forsaken who walks Tirisfal Glades arrives in the middle of a story already begun. Two new tellings fill in the years before your first step, one you play and one you hear.
Key facts
- Length: about 30 hours of gameplay and nearly an hour of cinematics (Blizzard)
- Leads: Garek Bandarion, a newly risen Forsaken warrior, and Dark Ranger Anya (Blizzard)
- Unbowed: narrated by Jesse Burch as Cormack; released October 26, 2026 (Warcraft Wiki)
What is Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom?
It is a campaign set in the gap between two games, according to Blizzard's BlizzCon 2026 panel recap. The four-mission prologue, Last Days of Lordaeron, is told through Lordaeron's Capital City Guard and begins as Arthas returns home. The recap adds that patch 3.0 brought Definitive Edition graphics and that the Forsaken Paladin is a free multiplayer hero.
Who is Garek Bandarion?
Spoiler note: this section describes how his campaign ends. Warcraft Wiki, the only source I opened for these details, says Garek, a Lordaeron guardsman, died at Stratholme, rose as a Scourge undead, regained his will, pledged himself to the Forsaken and became the first leader of the Deathguard. It says he embraced the Light and died destroying a crystal in Naxxramas, inspiring Danitha Morr to found a paladin order at his keep. Warcraft Wiki calls him "the first Forsaken paladin"; Warcraft Tavern's Undead Paladin overview says "one of the first Forsaken Paladins." See Bandarion Keep explained and The Forsaken Explained.
What is the Unbowed short story about?
Blizzard's page presents a fireside telling by Cormack, who struggles to accept his undead existence. After confronting his past and the beliefs that defined him, he asks whether a Forsaken can still serve the Light. Sean Copeland wrote it, Surfside 3D illustrated it, and the page offers a video and a downloadable PDF. For his old faith, see the Scarlet Crusade.
How does Forsaken Kingdom connect to the Forsaken Paladin in WoW Forever?
Blizzard says the Forsaken Paladin's story threads continue into Forever; its Unbowed page does not mention the campaign or paladins. Warcraft Tavern says Horde gets Undead Paladins in Forever and that Bandarion Keep in Tirisfal Glades is where Forsaken Paladins get most class quests. Blizzard's Deep Dive recap lists Undead Paladin among the new combinations. See the Paladin guide, Tirisfal Glades guide and editions.
What is not confirmed yet
- Cormack and paladins: Blizzard's Unbowed page does not call Cormack a paladin or mention Forsaken Kingdom, and no page I opened ties Unbowed to Forsaken paladins. A MassivelyOP headline (October 27) mentions "a short story for Forsaken paladins"; that page and Icy Veins' Unbowed post would not load, so I cannot say what they claim.
- Release date: Blizzard's recap and Unbowed page show no date; October 26, 2026 is from Warcraft Wiki alone.
How can the Lore Forever add-on and Willo help you follow the Forsaken story?
The free Lore Forever add-on gives readable story and recorded narration for the zone you stand in, a Lore button on quests, and a Journey page of finished quests, so Tirisfal Glades has its story to read and hear as you cross it. Willo is a Windows companion app: hold your talk key, ask who Garek was, hear the answer, and keep a notebook of what to read next. She is free to start with 50 answers a day, works without the add-on, and can be wrong, so check lore against Blizzard's posts. Lore Forever is fan-made.
