Cenarion Circle in WoW Forever: Druids of Moonglade Explained

The Cenarion Circle is the neutral order of druids that Malfurion Stormrage founded in the Moonglade with the blessing of Cenarius, and in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever) its Druid trainers stand in Darnassus, Thunder Bluff and the Moonglade town of Nighthaven.

Quick answer: Malfurion founded the Circle, Cenarius gave it his name, and after the Third War the tauren Hamuul Runetotem joined it. In the original game its fortress was Cenarion Hold in Silithus; whether Cenarion Hold's quests exist in Forever is not confirmed, as of October 29, 2026.

The Cenarion Circle in six steps: Cenarius blesses the order, Malfurion founds it in the Moonglade, the Circle builds Cenarion Hold in Silithus, Hamuul Runetotem joins after the Third War, Forever's Druid trainers stand in three places, and Druids learn Teleport Moonglade at level 10.
The Circle from its founding to the Druid trainers of WoW Forever.

A druid's road bends back to the same few places: a grove, a teacher, a teleport home. The Circle is the name that ties them together.

Who founded the Cenarion Circle and where is it based?

Warcraft Wiki says Malfurion founded the Circle during a meeting in the Moonglade, with Cenarius's blessing, and that it is named for Cenarius, "Lord of the Forest". Wowpedia agrees that Malfurion founded it and that it takes Cenarius's name. Warcraft Wiki gives its main home as the town of Nighthaven. Warcraft Wiki's Moonglade page adds that after the Third War the vale was opened to all druid races, and Wowpedia calls it a sacred land open to all druids. Read Cenarius's story and Malfurion Stormrage's story.

What is Cenarion Hold and why is the Circle in Silithus?

Warcraft Wiki says the Circle founded Cenarion Hold after the War of the Shifting Sands to guard the imprisoned Old God C'Thun and his forces, and Wowpedia's Cenarion Hold page says the same. Wowpedia calls the hold one of the biggest druid settlements in Kalimdor and lists it as neutral. Wowhead's guide description calls the Circle a neutral reputation tied to events around Ahn'Qiraj. Warcraft Wiki's Forever map comparison lists Silithus unchanged, and Warcraft Tavern's Dev Q&A report says Ahn'Qiraj will not arrive as a surprise drop on release.

How did the tauren join the Cenarion Circle?

Warcraft Wiki and Wowpedia both say that after the Third War Hamuul asked Malfurion to teach him, that Malfurion agreed despite objections from Fandral Staghelm, and that Hamuul is "the first tauren druid in nearly twenty generations". Both place him in the Elder Rise of Thunder Bluff in the original game, and both say tauren adventurers he sent to the Barrens traced a lurking power to the Wailing Caverns. See Thunder Bluff and the Wailing Caverns dungeon.

Where do you meet the Cenarion Circle in WoW Forever?

Start where the trainers stand. Warcraft Tavern's class trainer guide lists three Druid trainers at the Cenarion Enclave in Darnassus, three at Elder Rise in Thunder Bluff, and Loganaar at Nighthaven, who serves both factions. Druids learn Teleport Moonglade at level 10. Wowpedia says Circle representatives in Desolace offered quests for Maraudon, which Warcraft Tavern lists at levels 45 to 51. See the Druid guide and class trainer guide.

What is not confirmed yet

  • No source I opened shows Cenarion Hold, the Circle's reputation or the Maraudon quests in Forever.
  • Warcraft Wiki's Moonglade page ties the founding to the War of the Satyr; its Circle page gives no date, so this article gives none.
  • The Nightclaw Druids of Zephras Isle are a separate faction (see the Nightclaw guide); no source I opened ties them to the Circle.

How can the Lore Forever add-on and Willo help you follow the druids?

The free Lore Forever add-on lets you hover an NPC, press your key and open that NPC's entry, and a Lore button on quests opens the quest's story. It tells Forever's own story and drops later-expansion lore. Its Listen feature offers recorded narration for every zone and capital. Willo is a separate Windows companion app: hold your talk key, ask who the Cenarion Circle is, hear the answer, or target a character you meet and talk to them. She is free to start with 50 answers a day, works without the add-on, and can be wrong. Lore Forever is fan-made and not affiliated with Blizzard.
