Malfurion Stormrage

Malfurion Stormrage is the first mortal druid and the revered leader of the night elves alongside High Priestess Tyrande Whisperwind. Renowned for defeating the Burning Legion in both the War of the Ancients and the Third War, he is venerated as the Shan'do, or honored teacher. Currently, he lies trapped in a comatose slumber within the Emerald Dream, leaving the kaldorei without his waking guidance.

Ten thousand years ago, before the Great Sundering shattered ancient Kalimdor, Malfurion studied under the demigod Cenarius. While Queen Azshara and her Highborne caste delved dangerously into the arcane energies of the Well of Eternity, Malfurion turned toward the primal forces of nature, becoming Azeroth's first mortal druid. His suspicions regarding the Highborne proved tragically correct when Azshara's reckless sorcery pierced the veil and summoned Sargeras and the Burning Legion into Azeroth, igniting the catastrophic War of the Ancients.
