Tyrande Whisperwind

Tyrande Whisperwind is the High Priestess of Elune and the supreme leader of the night elves. Alongside her beloved, the Archdruid Malfurion Stormrage, she guided her people through the cataclysmic War of the Ancients and ten millennia of the Long Vigil. Now governing from the sacred boughs of Teldrassil, she commands the Sisterhood of Elune and directs the Sentinel army in defense of Kalimdor's sacred wilderness.

Born in the ancient city of Suramar, Tyrande grew up alongside the twin brothers Malfurion and Illidan Stormrage. While the brothers followed druidism and sorcery, Tyrande entered the service of Elune as a novice in the sisterhood. When the demonic Burning Legion first invaded Azeroth during the War of the Ancients, the dying High Priestess Dejahna chose Tyrande as her successor. Blessed with direct favor from the Moon Goddess, Tyrande transformed the Sisterhood into a radiant fighting force, wielding both divine restoration and searing lunar wrath to deliver her people from the brink of total annihilation.
