Druid or Paladin in WoW Forever: What Guides Say (Nov 6)

Druid or Paladin in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever): the guides I opened split by what you value. Icy Veins calls Druid the most flexible class, while RankedBoost grades Paladin higher overall, as of November 6, 2026. Both are hybrids that can fill several group roles, and WoW Forever launched on November 4, 2026. This page reports who says what and does not pick for you.

Quick answer: Druid can tank, heal, melee and cast (Icy Veins); Paladin can tank, heal and melee in plate. RankedBoost grades Paladin S and Druid B overall but Druid S for solo play. Method recommends different leveling paths for each. Grades predate the November 2 patch.

Druid versus Paladin in WoW Forever: Druid has four roles (tank, healer, melee and ranged damage) and leather armor, RankedBoost grade B overall and S solo; Paladin has three roles (tank, healer, melee damage) and plate armor, RankedBoost grade S overall and A solo.
Druid and Paladin as Icy Veins, Warcraft Tavern and RankedBoost describe them, as of November 6, 2026.

Key facts

  • Druid roles: Tank (Feral Bear), melee damage (Feral Cat), ranged damage (Balance), healer (Restoration), per Warcraft Tavern and Icy Veins
  • Paladin roles: Tank (Protection), healer (Holy), melee damage (Retribution), per Warcraft Tavern and Icy Veins
  • RankedBoost (graded October 3): Paladin S overall, the only S class; Druid B overall
  • Armor: Druid wears Leather, Paladin Plate (Warcraft Tavern)

What do the guides say about Druid?

Icy Veins (updated October 15) calls Druid the easiest recommendation if you are not set on a specialization, because one character can be a ranged caster, a cat, a bear tank or a healer. Warcraft Tavern's Druid guide rates the class's complexity as challenging, with form-specific action bars and a separate resource for each form.

For leveling, Method's guide recommends Feral and lists strong movement and sustain as strengths, with a slow start as a weakness. RankedBoost grades Druid B overall and S for solo play, with Restoration its top specialization.

What do the guides say about Paladin?

Warcraft Tavern's class page calls Paladin highly versatile in heavy armor, and RankedBoost grades it S overall and A for solo play. Blizzard's Paladin deep dive says Paladins can be the strongest single-target healers in the game, that Protection tanks with Seal of Fury, whose Judgement taunts, and that Paladins have no interrupt and no way to slow enemies. Method's leveling guide recommends starting in the Retribution tree and lists lack of mobility as a weakness.

Which one tanks better?

RankedBoost's tank list gives Protection Paladin S, Protection Warrior A and Feral Druid B. These are one outlet's grades from October 3. For the other tank option, see prot warrior tanking and best tank class.

Did the November 2 patch change this?

Blizzard's November 2 beta development notes changed both classes. For Druid, Bear Form and Dire Bear Form threat bonus rose from 50% to 115% to make up for the removal of Blessing of Salvation, and the Feral Berserk talent was removed. For Paladin, Righteous Fury can be trained at level 10 (was 16), and Salvation, Mass Salvation and Revoke were removed. The details are in Druid and Paladin talent changes. RankedBoost's grades are dated October 3 and I do not know whether they were re-graded.

What is not confirmed yet

  • Levels 31 to 60: the beta stopped at level 30, so no guide has long-term data
  • Current grades: RankedBoost's class page is dated October 3 and still credits Paladin with Salvation, which the November 2 notes removed
  • Guide text: Icy Veins' Druid text still lists Berserk, and Method's Paladin guide still gives Righteous Fury at level 16

How can the Lore Forever add-on and Willo help with this?

Ask Willo out loud, for example "what does a Paladin do in a dungeon", while you play. She can be wrong and is not official, so check the class pages and in-game tooltips. Willo is free to start with 50 answers a day and is a separate companion app for Windows 10 or 11 and Apple Silicon Macs (macOS 12 or later), per her page; her FAQ and the Lore Forever FAQ say Windows and Mac, though CurseForge still calls her a Windows app. The free Lore Forever add-on adds quest and place stories as you level. It has no internet access and its narration uses generated voices. Both are fan-made and not affiliated with Blizzard. See also the Druid guide, Paladin guide and best class for beginners.
