Steamwheedle Port in WoW Forever: Quests, Pirates, Boat
Steamwheedle Port is a goblin port village on the eastern coast of the Tanaris desert, run by the neutral Steamwheedle Cartel and linked by road to Gadgetzan; in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever), sources list a new boat from it to Powderfuse Port in the Riverglades. As of November 5, 2026, the boat route rests on wiki and guide listings, not on a Blizzard page I opened.
Quick answer: Warcraft Wiki says the port belonged to the Steamwheedle Cartel and has a Southsea pirate cove to its south at Lost Rigger Cove. Its quests start around level 44 to 45 in Tanaris, a zone listed at levels 40 to 50.
The port lies on Tanaris's eastern shore, a road's length east of Gadgetzan.

What is Steamwheedle Port?
Warcraft Wiki describes a port village on the eastern coast of the Tanaris desert, in the South Seas, belonging to the Steamwheedle Cartel and connected by road to Gadgetzan. The wiki's Tanaris page says goblins from Undermine founded both it and Gadgetzan. The Cartel is described as neutral: it allied with Orgrim Doomhammer's Horde in the Second War, then, the wiki says, decided neutrality paid better. Gadgetzan is "considered neutral territory," so Alliance and Horde meet there. See the Tanaris guide.
What quests and people are at Steamwheedle Port?
Warcraft Wiki lists Security Chief Bilgewhizzle and the vendors Gikkix (fisherman) and Jabbey (general goods). The quest Ship Schedules is level 45, requires level 40, and asks you to report a scroll of shipments between the port and Booty Bay. Yeh'kinya, a level 41 jungle troll, gives Screecher Spirits at level 44 and starts a chain the wiki ties to Hakkar the Soulflayer. For the Booty Bay side, see Stranglethorn Vale.
Who are the pirates near Steamwheedle Port?
Lost Rigger Cove lies south of the port along the shore, reached through a small cave or by swimming, according to Warcraft Wiki. It lists two level 45 quests there, including Southsea Shakedown, and the Tanaris page names the Southsea Freebooters among the zone's groups.
Is there a boat from Steamwheedle Port to the Riverglades?
Warcraft Wiki's Powderfuse Port page calls it a goblin town on the eastern coast of the Riverglades, exclusive to Forever, added in Patch 1.60.1, with "a connection by sea to Tanaris." It does not name Steamwheedle Port, and the page is marked as possibly out of date. Method's October 14, 2026 route list names a new Steamwheedle Port to Powderfuse Port boat, from Tanaris to the Riverglades; our boats and zeppelins guide covers it. See the Riverglades guide.
What is not confirmed yet
- Boat details: no Blizzard page I opened names the route, and Method's list predates launch, so check the in-game travel options.
- Kezan ship: the wiki says the port had a dock for ships to and from Kezan, without dating it; no Forever source mentions it.
- Forever changes: the wiki's port page does not mention Forever, and I could not confirm what else changed.
- Later events: the wiki says the Cataclysm flooded the port; that is outside Forever's first year.
How can the Lore Forever add-on and Willo help at Steamwheedle Port?
The free Lore Forever add-on is fan-made, not affiliated with Blizzard and has no internet access; its Lore button on quests opens a quest's story, with narration from generated voices. Willo is a separate companion app with a download for Windows 10 or 11 and one for Apple Silicon Macs (macOS 12 or later); her FAQ and the Lore Forever FAQ now say Windows and Mac, though CurseForge still calls her a Windows app. Ask her aloud, "how do I get to the Riverglades from Tanaris?" She is free to start with 50 answers a day, can be wrong, and in-game menus and maps stay the source of truth.
