Felwood

The story

Felwood is a blighted forest nestled between Ashenvale and Mount Hyjal, deeply poisoned by demonic magic during the Third War. Once a lush paradise of meadows and groves tended by the night elves, it now crawls with demonic satyrs, slavering beasts, and twisted ancients. Cenarion Circle druids, alongside outposts of the Alliance and Horde, desperately work to cleanse the land and purge the Shadow Council from its depths.

Before the Third War, this valley was a peaceful haven of singing birds, clear streams, and tranquil groves guarded by ancient protectors. That ended when the dreadlord Tichondrius and the Burning Legion deployed the Skull of Gul'dan to poison northern Kalimdor ahead of their assault on Mount Hyjal. The skull's vile sorceries twisted the forest floor into a blackened mire. Though Illidan Stormrage eventually slew Tichondrius and consumed the artifact's essence, the land remained steeped in fel corruption. Mighty treants and ancients rotted from within, rivers turned to boiling bile, and the forest's beasts were driven into cannibalistic madness.
