Irontree Woods
Irontree Woods is a blighted grove situated in northern Felwood, once cherished by the night elves as a peaceful forest sanctuary. Ravaged by the demonic corruption of the Third War, its ancient protectors have been petrified into stone while twisted treants and elementals prowl among the ruins.
A Forest Turned to Stone
Irontree Woods was once a tranquil woodland glade tended by the kaldorei, but the demonic taint of the Burning Legion during the Third War choked the life from its soil. The grove's guardian Ancients—Hastat, Stoma, and Vartrus—succumbed to the dark magic, petrifying into lifeless stone monuments that still stand entombed amid the corrupted brush. Now, maddened treants, vile bog beasts, and tainted water elementals wander the twisted forest floor, striking violently at any travelers who dare approach.
