Lordamere Lake
The story
Lordamere Lake is one of the largest bodies of freshwater in the Eastern Kingdoms, bordered by Tirisfal Glades, Silverpine Forest, and the Alterac Mountains. Once the bustling aquatic heart of human civilization in the north, its cold waters and islands are now haunted by Scourge necromancers, feral murlocs, and the spreading shadow of the undead.
In the golden age of the Alliance of Lordaeron, Lordamere Lake sat at the crossroads of human power. The Capital City of Lordaeron guarded its northern shores, the sorcerous city-state of Dalaran rose near its southern reach, and the kingdom of Alterac lined its mountainous eastern edge. Merchant vessels and fishing boats once crossed its broad, mist-covered expanse without fear. Following the devastation of the Third War, the lake was transformed from a hub of commerce into a natural barrier dividing the Forsaken-held lands of Tirisfal and Silverpine from the treacherous heights of Alterac.
