Gold Road

The Gold Road is the primary north-south artery cutting through the arid expanse of the Barrens. Stretching from the Mor'shan Rampart on the border of Ashenvale down past the Crossroads toward the southern reaches, it serves as the vital transit line for the young Horde.

The Gold Road is a long, sun-baked dirt highway that carves its way through the center of the Barrens. To the north, it begins near the fortified Mor'shan Rampart and Mor'shan Base Camp, which guard against night elf incursions from Ashenvale. Traveling south, it connects with the eastern roadway leading to Durotar before intersecting the bustling trading settlement of the Crossroads. Continuing southward past the lush waters of the local oases and the foothills near the Wailing Caverns, the northern span of the highway reaches a dried-up riverbed, where travelers cross into the more hazardous southern portion of the savanna.
