Sylvanas Windrunner

Lady Sylvanas Windrunner is the Banshee Queen and supreme ruler of the Forsaken, holding court in the Undercity beneath the ruins of Lordaeron. Once the brave Ranger-General of Silvermoon, she was slain and raised into undeath by Arthas Menethil before breaking free from the Lich King's grip. Now allied with Thrall's Horde out of mutual survival, she is fiercely dedicated to securing a future for her free-willed undead and exacting vengeance upon the Scourge.

In life, Lady Sylvanas was the celebrated Ranger-General of Silvermoon, commanding the defense of Quel'Thalas during the Third War. When Prince Arthas Menethil marched the Scourge into the high elven kingdom to reach the Sunwell, Sylvanas fought fiercely to delay his advance. Frustrated by her resistance, Arthas murdered her, but denied her a clean death. He ripped her soul from her corpse and twisted it into a vengeful banshee, forcing her to serve the Scourge and assist in the slaughter of her own people.
