Thrall

The story

Thrall is the Warchief of the Horde and the ruler of Durotar, holding court from the Valley of Wisdom in Orgrimmar. Once a human slave raised to be an arena gladiator, he broke the chains of his people, rediscovered their ancient shamanic traditions, and led them across the Great Sea to build a new homeland.

Born Go'el, the son of Frostwolf chieftain Durotan and Draka, Thrall was orphaned as an infant when his parents were murdered by Gul'dan's assassins. He was discovered by human commander Aedelas Blackmoore, who named him 'Thrall'—meaning slave—and raised him at Durnholde Keep as an arena fighter with an education in human tactics. Aided by his foster sister Taretha Foxton, Thrall eventually escaped his captors. Guided by the Frostwolf exile Drek'Thar, he cast aside demonic corruption to master the elemental spirits, becoming the first of a new generation of orcish shaman.
