Orgrim Doomhammer
The story
Orgrim Doomhammer was the supreme Warchief of the Old Horde throughout the Second War, remembered as one of the greatest orc warriors in history. Though he died liberating the internment camps in the Arathi Highlands, his legacy endures in the capital of Orgrimmar and through Thrall, who inherited his mighty warhammer and black plate armor.
Originally second-in-command to Blackhand of the Blackrock clan, Orgrim refused the demonic blood offered by Gul'dan, though he concealed his doubts beneath fierce loyalty. Near the close of the First War, disgusted by the Shadow Council's treachery and the murder of his childhood friend Durotan, Orgrim slew Blackhand in honorable combat. Assuming the mantle of Warchief, he ruthlessly purged Gul'dan's warlocks and led the Horde across the Eastern Kingdoms during the Second War. Though a devastating strategist who pushed human kingdoms to the brink of ruin, he was ultimately defeated and captured outside Blackrock Spire after the betrayal of Gul'dan split his forces.
