Durnholde Keep

Durnholde Keep is a shattered fortress situated east of Tarren Mill in the Hillsbrad Foothills. Once the nerve center of the Alliance's orc internment camps and the place where Warchief Thrall was raised as a captive gladiator, it now lies in ruin, occupied by outlaws of the Syndicate.

Built by the Alliance, Durnholde served as the headquarters overseeing the southern internment camps following the Second War. Commanded by the ambitious and corrupt Lieutenant General Aedelas Blackmoore, it functioned as both an administrative fortress and a gladiatorial arena. It was here that Blackmoore raised the orphaned infant Go'el, naming him Thrall and training him to fight for sport and profit. Aided by Taretha Foxton, Thrall escaped captivity and later united the dispersed orc clans under the banner of the new Horde. Returning to Durnholde, Thrall laid siege to the fortress, slew Blackmoore, and called upon the earth spirits to shatter its walls.
