Syndicate
The Syndicate is a widespread human criminal organization founded and led by dispossessed nobles of the fallen kingdom of Alterac. Operating out of fortified strongholds across the Alterac Mountains, Hillsbrad Foothills, and the ruins of Stromgarde Keep, they wage an uncompromising war against both the Alliance and the Horde to restore their lost aristocracy.
Fallen Nobility
When the kingdom of Alterac collapsed in dishonor following King Aiden Perenolde's treachery during the Second War, its aristocracy was stripped of land and title. Refusing to accept their exile, the remaining Alteraci nobility banded together under the late king's son, Prince Aliden Perenolde. Adopting distinctive orange bandanas and standardizing their ranks with hired thugs, highwaymen, and hedge wizards, they forged the Syndicate. To the outside world, they behave like common brigands, raiding caravans, ambushing travelers, and running extortion rings. In truth, their criminal enterprises exist solely to fund an organized effort to reconquer their ancestral domains and subjugate surrounding lands.
