Strahnbrad

Strahnbrad is a ruined human settlement nestled in the northeastern heights of the Alterac Mountains, near the border of the Western Plaguelands. Once famous as the site of Prince Arthas Menethil's early defense against Blackrock orc raiders, the town has since fallen into decay and serves as a fortified stronghold for the criminal Syndicate.

Originally a holding of the Kingdom of Alterac before being absorbed into Lordaeron following the Second War, Strahnbrad's misfortune began on the eve of the Third War. Blackrock clan orcs raided the settlement to take human sacrifices for the Burning Legion, leading Prince Arthas Menethil and the Knights of the Silver Hand to ride to its defense. Though Arthas drove the raiders away and slew their slave master, the town was heavily bloodied. When Lordaeron crumbled beneath the Scourge shortly thereafter, Strahnbrad was abandoned to the elements.
