Questie and RestedXP in WoW Forever: Do They Work?

Yes, both leveling addons list a World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever) version on CurseForge: Questie, a free quest helper, has a "WoW Forever" file dated November 5, 2026, and RestedXP Guide, an in-game leveling guide, has one dated November 4. Questie shows quests on your map; RestedXP gives step-by-step routes, and a partner site says its full guide is sold separately. Neither page describes how well it works in Forever.

Quick answer: Install either through the CurseForge app or from the file list, choose the Forever file, enable it at the character screen and /reload. Type /questie for Questie's settings and /RXP for RestedXP. RestedXP's full guide is sold separately, per a partner site.

Questie and RestedXP side by side: Questie is a free quest helper that shows quests on the map and needs QuestieDB and QuestieTrace; RestedXP is an in-game leveling guide opened with /RXP whose full guide is sold separately; both list a WoW Forever file on CurseForge.
What each addon's CurseForge page states, read November 5, 2026; paid-guide details from Kami Labs, a RestedXP partner.

Key facts

  • Questie: "The Classic Quest Helper," free (GPLv3); Forever file v12.6.1, November 5 (CurseForge)
  • Questie dependencies: QuestieDB and QuestieTrace are listed as required dependencies (CurseForge Relations tab)
  • RestedXP Guide: "In-game Leveling Guides"; Forever file v4.11.32, November 4 (CurseForge)
  • RestedXP open command: /RXP or /RXPG (CurseForge)
  • Paid part: the full RestedXP guide, about $30 per faction, with levels 1 to 20 free (Kami Labs, partner site, October 24)

What are Questie and RestedXP?

Questie's CurseForge page says it shows quests on the map, with notes for quest starts, turn-ins and objectives, a quest tracker, a journey log and a quests-by-zone list. RestedXP's page describes a leveling addon with optimized quest routes, auto quest turn-in, a targeting macro and a pointer arrow. It lists built-in routes for other game versions (1-25 for Mists of Pandaria, 1-20 for Vanilla) and does not mention Forever routes, so its Forever coverage is unconfirmed on that page.

Do Questie and RestedXP work in WoW Forever?

Both pages list a Forever flavor, and each recent-files list names a "WoW Forever" file. I found no statement on how complete Questie's Forever quest data is. CurseForge's launch post (November 5) says its app supports WoW Forever installs and names Polestar Guides, a free open-source 1 to 60 leveling guide addon for Forever. For other picks see best addons for leveling.

How do I install Questie or RestedXP for WoW Forever?

  1. Use the CurseForge app, pick your Forever install and click Install, or open the addon's Files tab, choose the file marked Forever and download it.
  2. For a manual install, unzip into _forever_\Interface\AddOns (path per the Lore Forever downloads page and CurseForge's blog).
  3. At the character screen click AddOns and enable it, then /reload.
  4. Questie needs QuestieDB and QuestieTrace; CurseForge lists them as required dependencies, so check they are installed if you unzip by hand.
  5. If it does not appear, read addons not showing up and how to install addons.

Is RestedXP allowed in WoW Forever?

The rule at issue is Blizzard's general add-on policy (reposted on its forums in 2018, not written for Forever), which says add-ons "must be distributed free of charge" and bars charging for "services related to the add-on." Players debate whether a paid guide breaks it. A Blizzard US forum thread, "Paid Addon - Forever Leveling Guide," reached 636 posts, and I found no Blizzard staff post among them. As of October 24 Kami Labs reported no ban and no Blizzard statement. Questie is free and raises no such question.

What is not confirmed yet

  • Any Blizzard statement on paid leveling guides; none in the sources I opened.
  • How complete Questie's quest data is for Forever.
  • RestedXP's Forever route coverage and price; the price comes from a partner site.

How can the Lore Forever add-on and Willo help with this?

Questie and RestedXP tell you where to go; the free Lore Forever add-on tells you why, with a story for each quest and zone. It has no internet access. Willo answers "what should I do next?" by voice, free to start with 50 answers a day, and can be wrong. Willo is a separate companion app: her page lists a Windows 10 or 11 download and an Apple Silicon Mac download (macOS 12 or later), and the Lore Forever FAQ says Windows and Mac, though CurseForge still calls her a Windows app. Both are fan-made, not Blizzard's.
